Laboratory Technician
Summary:BioCloak, Inc. is developing novel, microplastic-free bioencapsulation formulations for agriculture. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to support our Principal Formulations Scientist in developing next-generation crop protection inputs and animal feed using microplastic-free bio-encapsulation techniques. The technician will play a critical role in formulating products, executing laboratory procedures, maintaining lab operations, and supporting innovative research initiatives that prioritize environmental responsibility and animal health.Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation, testing, and analysis of experimental crop protection and feed formulations under the supervision of the principal formulator.Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including encapsulation systems, mixers, dryers, and analytical instruments.Conduct experiments involving encapsulation materials, feed ingredients, and biologically active compounds in accordance with established protocols.Accurately document experimental procedures, data, and results in lab notebooks and electronic databases.Prepare raw materials, reagents, and feedstocks for formulation experiments and ensure proper storage and labeling.Support the R&D team in prototype preparation, scale-up testing, and performance evaluations.Follow all laboratory safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment.Participate in literature reviews and competitive analysis to support formulation innovation.Assist in pilot production runs and sample packaging for internal and external stakeholders.Communicate progress.Qualifications:Education:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Animal Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.Experience:1–3 years of laboratory experience in a research, food, agriculture, or biotech setting preferred.Familiarity with crop formulations, encapsulation technology, or bio-based materials is a plus.Skills & Attributes:Basic knowledge of lab techniques (weighing, mixing, pH measurement, microscopy, etc.)Comfortable working with precision lab equipment and following SOPs.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Good organizational and time management skills.Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Strong work ethic and commitment to sustainability and scientific rigor.Benefits:Competitive hourly wage or salary (depending on experience).Health, dental, and vision insurance (for full-time only).Paid time off and holiday benefits (for full-time only).Opportunities for professional development and advancement.Direct mentorship from the Principal Scientist and exposure to cutting-edge sustainable technologiesFor consideration, please email your resume to info@BioCloak.com
