Regional EHS Manager (Auburn Hills)
Position Summary:The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for leading and implementing environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple sites within a defined region. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements as well as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, promotes a strong safety culture, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance. The Regional EHS Manager partners with site leadership to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and support operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and oversee EHS policies, programs, and procedures across multiple facilities.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and company standards.ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management Systems:Lead and maintain compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) across all regional sites.Support certification, surveillance, and recertification audits for both standards.Ensure standardization of EHS processes, documentation, and controls in alignment with ISO requirements.Ensure identification and evaluation of environmental aspects/impacts and OH&S hazards/risks.Drive corrective and preventive actions related to audit findings and non-conformances.Promote continuous improvement of EHS management systems and performance.Operational EHS Leadership:Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections.Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.Monitor and report EHS performance metrics (e.g., Near Miss, Hazard, TRIR, LTIR, environmental KPIs).Partner with plant leadership to drive accountability and a proactive safety culture.Provide training on EHS topics, including hazard communication, emergency response, and safe work practices.Support environmental compliance activities such as waste management, emissions tracking, and permitting.Support occupational health and safety programs, including risk mitigation and injury prevention initiatives.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents, risks, and environmental impact.Coordinate with corporate EHS and regulatory agencies as needed.Manage and develop site-level EHS personnel (if applicable).Support new plant launches, expansions, or process changes with EHS risk and impact assessments.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.8–12+ years of EHS experience, including multi-site or regional responsibility.Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations.Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems required.Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor).Key Competencies:Strong leadership and influence skills across multiple sites.Ability to drive cultural change and embed safety ownership.Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills.Effective communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.Working Conditions:Frequent travel between regional sites (up to 33-50%).Regular presence in manufacturing and industrial environments.Interaction with plant leadership, corporate teams, and regulatory agencies.
