Global Dynamics is currently seeking a Registered Nurses to join our team and work at a state of the art government facility.Medical-Surgical Nurse is a professional nurse who provides a holistic approach to the care of patients requiring acute medical or surgical interventions. The Nurse functions dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee.Contractor nurses will be assigned based on patient care needs and the contractor's experience.Agency nurses assigned to AVAHCS Medical/Surgical units can expect to work 10 and/or 12-hour shifts, with alternating weekend shifts preferred.The minimum requirement for all registered nurses assigned to a Medical-Surgical unit shall include a current unrestricted registered nurse license from any state (United States) and a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.Assuming a patient care assignment for a group of patientsAssessment and care of patients with a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses and with a wide range of treatment modalitiesCare of patients requiring special precautions such as isolationInserting and maintenance of peripheral linesMaintaining central lines for the administration of intravenous fluidProviding emergency care as indicatedAdministration of medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenously) and blood productsVerification of physician ordersComplete and accurate documentation of care according to facility/unit policiesPhlebotomy and bedside testingPsychological support of patients as indicatedComplex wound dressing care and maintenanceMay be required to work with COVID-19-positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID 19RequirementsNurses must have active, current RN license in any state (United States).All registered nurses shall have at least three (3) years current experience in an acute care, medical/surgical unit in an urban, academic Medical Center setting exclusive of agency assignments and must have worked within the last six (6) months in the above settings.Education requirements: Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
