Job Title: Project Accounting Specialist
Reports To: Assistant Controller
Location: New Mexico – Remote
OVERVIEW
A Project Accounting Specialist provides financial and record-keeping support to project and construction managers during implementation and is a liaison between project management and Accounting departments.
JOB DUTIES
Provide general cost support for tracking and analysis of project costs (capital and expense) through each phase of the project from planning to completion
Detail cost tracking through cost workbooks for use in determining project completion milestones, accrual tracking and asset allocation
Lead forecast update process in collaboration with project managers and superintendents
Invoice review related to application of PO terms and conditions
Capital accrual preparation and asset reporting (in-service) for use in financial closeout process
Perform other duties
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required, but B.S. in Accounting, or B.S. in Business Administration + additional work experience preferred
Valid Driver’s License
Experience using ERP systems
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, etc.

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
9/80 schedule: Monday – Thursday, 9-hour workdays, Fridays worked, 8-hour workday, with every other Friday off. Schedule subject to change.
Indoor, temperature-controlled office environment
Typical noise levels include moderate noises (business office with computers, printers, etc.)
Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job conditions require sitting over 2/3 of work time, and hearing over 2/3 of work time. Will be standing, walking, using hands, reaching with hands, climbing and stooping under 1/3 of the time. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. – lifting will be required up to 1/3 of the work time. Under 1/3 of the work time, the environment may consist of moving mechanical parts and high/precarious places. Typical noise levels include moderate noises (ex: business office with computers, printers, etc.
A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
