Job Title: Welder/Fabricator – Rack Processing Location: Dayton, OH Reports To: Production Manager Rack Processing Company is where engineering meets real-world manufacturing. Our team works with advanced tools like SolidWorks, CNC forming, and laser cutting systems to create solutions that directly impact manufacturing efficiency and product quality. We’re especially known for our expertise in plating-on-plastics (POP) rack design, a critical but often overlooked component in modern manufacturing. Position Summary Rack Processing is seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our production team. This hands-on position is responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding, and assembling custom racks and fixtures used in industrial finishing and coating processes. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of interpreting engineering drawings to produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications. The time requirements are Monday – Friday 5:10 – 2:10, with an occasional opportunity for overtime Essential Functions and Duties Fabrication & Welding Fabricate, fit, weld, and assemble custom racks, fixtures, and related products according to engineering drawings and customer requirements. Perform MIG, TIG, brazing, soldering, and other welding processes as required and trained. Cut, bend, grind, and finish materials using hand tools and fabrication equipment. Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and levels. Blueprint Interpretation & Quality Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production documentation. Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure products meet specifications. Safety & Teamwork Safely operate fabrication and welding equipment Wear and maintain required PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses. Work collaboratively with Production Managers, Engineering, Quality, and fellow team members to achieve production goals Qualifications & Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read a tape measure and basic engineering drawings. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with MIG and TIG welding. Preferred MSSC Certified Production Technician certification or welding certification.
