Quality Technician

Quality TechnicianThe Quality Technician performs basic quality techniques (inspection and audits) to track, analyze and report on materials, processes, and products to ensure they conform to the company's quality standards, and are involved in the calibration of tools and equipment.The Compensation range for this role is $58,500-$68,000 per annum based on experience.Responsibilities:Use standard hand-measuring instruments (i.e. micrometer, bore gauge, calipers, height gauge, etc.)Verify parts by carrying out dimensional, functional, data review and visual inspectionsSupport CMM machine/ programming with software using CAD models and/or engineering drawingsExecutes and assures compliance with quality procedures, practices and inspection processesInteracts with Quality, GSC, manufacturing and Test team members to determine root cause of quality issues and ensures that corrective and preventive action is implementedEvaluates hardware, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records dataPrepares and reads inspection control plans, interpreting specifications, drawings, BOM, standards and tolerances in a GD&T environmentSupports and conducts measurement systems analysis with the use of gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studiesSupports 5s and housekeepingEssential Skills:Positive Attitude, Implements Change, Proposes Solutions, Teamwork, Achieves Daily Plan, Easily CoachedAnalyze a situation and solves problems effectivelyCommunicate tactfully and effectively about why a decision is madeMust have an open mind and willingness to learn and try new thingsStrong ability to prioritize your time and handle stressful situationsProven advance knowledge in inspection standards and skillsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematicsWorking knowledge of gauges (mechanical, electrical, etc.) used in the quality process and calibration proceduresKnowledge of incoming, in process, final, first article inspection, auditing and sampling plansSkills in basic math, basic statistics, variation and control chartsBasic problem-solving skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAble to express ideas in individual and group settings and work collaboratively in a teamProven mentoring and training skills Qualifications:Post-secondary education in engineering or similar. Certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician is a plus, Zeiss Calypso certification is a plus3-5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing/inspection environmentAvailable to work first shift, flexibility is a plus
