Part Time Class A Driver

Position Summary In accordance with all Department of Transportation regulations, drivers are responsible for safe operations of a commercial vehicle. The driver is also responsible for maintaining control of refrigerated products from post-production until delivery. This includes the loading, driving, and delivering of all products to the proper location by a specified time. Location is in Green Bay, WI. Schedule will be Tuesday-Friday with hours ranging from 2- 8 hours daily starting at 9AM. Will know the hour estimate the day before based off productions needs. There will be occasional pick up of product in Waukesha, WI and Fort Atkinson, WI and other daily trips as needed to complete supply chain needs Essential Duties and Responsibilities Driver will utilize a 28-foot straight truck, and a 53-foot refrigerated trailer as needed depending on the volume of product needed for that day. Maintain inventory counts at warehouse in Green Bay. Maintain a safe working vehicle in accordance with all commercial regulations. This includes pre-tripping and post-tripping the vehicle to ensure all facets are in proper working order. Also, notifying the proper authorities as to any defects needing attention. Responsible for loading refrigerated product on vehicle. This includes putting together customer orders in a refrigerated warehouse and maintaining control of orders as they are loaded onto the proper vehicle. Make sure that all items required for proper and timely delivery are loaded onto truck or kept on person before leaving facility to make deliveries. Maintaining control of refrigerated product. Never allowing product to go outside the temperature safety zone. This includes product on the vehicle and product delivered at customer locations. Safe handling of a commercial vehicle. Abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation. Delivering to customers. This includes maintaining proper time parameters. The responsibility of having access to locked and secured locations. And, placing the correct amount of product in the proper location in accordance to customer specifications. Proper use of a two wheeled handcart. Using cart in a safe manner. Wear proper uniform and shoes. Driver must wear approved items in accordance with Kitchen Fresh Foods regulations. Keep a neat appearance. Communicate with supervisors when any duty or activity that is not performed to standard satisfaction. This includes any detail pertaining to vehicle maintenance and performance, all facets of refrigeration and delivery, and any other detail out of the realm of normalcy. Submit to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations. Ability to adapt to change. Duties and responsibilities may change without notice. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Be able to perform job successfully according to essential duties and responsibilities. Hold a valid drivers license with proper commercial endorsements and a proper driving record. Test drug and alcohol free. Language Skills Ability to read, write, and interpret English. Effectively understand, interact and respond to supervision. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to use computers and to talk and hear. The employee needs to be agile to move quickly both physically and mentally. The employee is required to stand, walk, bend, stoop or squat. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
