Associate Project Manager, Roofing

*Title:* Associate Project Manager, Roofing *Primary Function:* Supports the management and execution of commercial roofing projects from evaluation and pre-design through construction and post-construction. Works closely with Project Managers, Executive Leadership, technicians, consultants, contractors, and clients to coordinate project activities, develop project deliverables, and ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. *Reports To:* Director of Restoration *Responsibilities:* *Project Management & Execution* * Support Project Managers in managing projects through evaluation, design, construction documents, bidding, and construction oversight. * Assist with developing and maintaining project scope, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans. * Coordinate project tasks and deliverables with technicians, support staff, consultants, and contractors. * Track project progress, budgets, timelines, and resource needs and communicate concerns to the Project Manager. * Assist in identifying project risks and developing solutions using established company processes and guidance from senior staff. * Maintain accurate, organized, and complete project documentation and files. * Gradually assume responsibility for individual project tasks and smaller projects as experience and competency develop. *Client & Stakeholder Management* * Support the Project Manager as a point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. * Communicate project information, updates, and technical findings clearly and professionally. * Participate in client meetings, site meetings, and progress meetings as directed. * Assist with preparation and presentation of findings, reports, recommendations, and design solutions. * Support contract development, invoicing, and fee management in coordination with the Project Manager and leadership. *Technical & Design Support* * Participate in roof evaluations, including destructive and non-destructive testing, under appropriate supervision. * Assist with development of roofing and restoration designs, details, and material selections. * Assist with preparation of construction documents, specifications (Divisions 3, 4, 6, & 7), and project manuals. * Collect, organize, and analyze field and test data to support design and project recommendations. * Apply established engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and company requirements to project work. * Develop increasing technical proficiency in commercial roofing systems, building envelope conditions, and restoration methods. *Team & Consultant Coordination* * Coordinate assigned tasks among internal teams, technicians, and external consultants. * Assist Project Managers with workload coordination and project resource planning. * Provide day-to-day support and guidance to field staff on assigned project activities. * Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule. * Begin developing leadership and mentorship skills through support of junior field and technical staff. *Bidding & Construction Administration* * Assist with bidding processes, including preparation of bid documents, contractor communication, bid tabulation, and bid reviews. * Participate in pre-construction meetings, site visits, progress meetings, and construction observations. * Assist with review of shop drawings, pay applications, submittals, and change orders. * Prepare field reports, progress reports, meeting documentation, and punch lists under the direction of the Project Manager. * Assist with project closeout, final documentation, and post-construction evaluations. * Develop familiarity with construction administration processes, contractor coordination, and project documentation requirements. *Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement* * Follow company standards, quality manuals, established processes, and industry best practices. * Seek guidance from Project Managers and senior staff when encountering unfamiliar or complex technical or project issues. * Participate in continuing education, certifications, and industry involvement. * Develop knowledge and skills necessary for progression into independent Project Manager responsibilities. * Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposals, presentations, and interviews as assigned. *Qualifications:* *Experience* * 2–5 years of relevant experience in roofing, building envelope, construction, engineering, architecture, or a related consulting field. * Experience in commercial roofing, building envelope, construction, or a related technical field preferred. * Demonstrated progression in field, technician, EIT, engineering, construction, or related responsibilities. * Experience supporting projects or project teams preferred. *Education* * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred. * Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. *Certifications & Licenses* * *Preferred / In Progress:* * Registered Roof Observer (RRO) (or working toward) * Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) (or working toward) *Capability Expectations* * Supports Project Managers in managing standard to moderately complex projects. * Demonstrates increasing ability to independently manage assigned project tasks and smaller project components. * Applies established engineering principles, company standards, and project procedures. * Assists with project scope, schedule, and budget management and understands the impact of project decisions on overall performance. * Identifies potential project risks and communicates issues promptly to the Project Manager. * Develops technical knowledge and judgment necessary to make appropriate recommendations within established guidelines. * Communicates effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, technicians, and internal team members. * Demonstrates strong organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability. * Develops leadership, communication, and project management skills in preparation for progression to Project Manager.
