IT Project Manager – Data Governance Salt Lake City, Utah 6+ Month Contract Position $45 to $55 per hour contract Summary We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead enterprise technology initiatives with a strong focus on master data management and data governance programs. This role will coordinate cross-functional projects involving data quality, governance frameworks, business systems, and enterprise applications while ensuring scalable, secure, and well-governed data solutions that align with organizational goals. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate enterprise IT projects focused on master data management, data governance, business systems, and enterprise applications. Manage full project lifecycles including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, execution, and delivery. Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define data governance standards, data ownership processes, and quality initiatives. Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, data analysts, business users, vendors, and leadership stakeholders. Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope. Facilitate Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies depending on project requirements. Support initiatives related to data quality, metadata management, governance policies, and master data standardization. Conduct stakeholder meetings and provide executive-level status reporting and communication. Ensure projects comply with security, governance, regulatory, and organizational standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, data accuracy, and governance maturity. Requirements 2+ years of IT project management experience supporting enterprise technology or data-focused initiatives. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification required. Strong understanding of master data management, data governance principles , and enterprise data processes. Experience managing cross-functional technology or data governance projects. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Skills Experience supporting enterprise master data management (MDM) initiatives. Familiarity with data governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and data quality tools. Experience with ERP, CRM, or enterprise data platforms. Knowledge of reporting, analytics, and business intelligence environments.
