Senior Software Engineer
Overview
In this role you drive the design and optimization of high-performance backend systems powering autonomous rail vehicles and interfacing with customer control systems. You will build robust, low-latency software primarily in Rust, ensuring security and reliability in safety-critical environments. You join a cross-functional team to architect distributed systems and elevate system-wide performance for safer, greener freight. ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement high-performance, low-latency backend systems for critical train control applicationsDevelop and maintain system-level software written primarily in RustOptimize existing codebases for scalability, performance, and reliabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to architect fault-tolerant and distributed systemsEnsure software meets security, compliance, and performance standardsConduct performance profiling, debugging, and system diagnostics for complex issuesContribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and best practices within the team
