Power Scheduler
Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more.Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. The Company is not able to take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time for this position or commit to doing so in the future for individuals with current authorization to work via, for example, CPT or OPT, and would need sponsorship in the future.The Power Scheduler is responsible for submitting pertinent generator parameters and financial information to the respective Independent System Operators within applicable timelines and disseminating information back to customers in a timely manner.Essential Job FunctionsContinuous compliance with the applicable market and operational rulesInteracts effectively with Day-Ahead Traders, Energy Managers, and customers to verify all submissions are made accurately and timelyDemonstrates a high level of attention to detail to facilitate troubleshooting submission issuesWorks well under pressureMaintains strong computer skills and is proficient with Microsoft Windows and OfficeDependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is requiredThis position requires working ten hour shifts including weekends and holidaysEducation/Experience/SkillsBasic Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering is beneficial, but not requiredStrong attention to detail and a proactive attitudeAbility to meet daily scheduling deadlines with minimum supervisionStrong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office requiredAbility to prioritize assigned projects, multi-task, and confidently make critical decisions in a fast-paced environmentMust have strong customer service, time management, organizational, and written/verbal communication skillsBenefitsAt Tenaska we care about the wellbeing of our employees and their families.
