This role delivers age-appropriate care across the lifespan and supports the continuum of care through clinical expertise, patient assessment, and collaboration with the healthcare team.\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nProvide medical services to patients within scope of practice and assigned privileges\r\nPerform patient assessments using age-specific growth and development principles\r\nDeliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care\r\nAssist supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management\r\nMaintain patient flow and organize clinical workload effectively\r\nProvide guidance and direction to clinical staff involved in patient care\r\nRespond appropriately to emergency situations\r\nEnsure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, hospital policies, and regulatory standards\r\nMaintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)\r\nPerform fluoroscopic procedures, including barium studies (e.g., upper GI series, small bowel follow-through, and enemas).\r\nPerform joint injections under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance.\r\nConduct paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures, including patient preparation, imaging guidance, and post-procedure monitoring.\r\nPlace abscess drains using ultrasound or CT guidance, ensuring sterile technique and accurate positioning.\r\nPerform bone marrow biopsies, including site preparation and specimen collection.\r\nPerform biopsies with ultrasound and CT guidance for various tissues and organs, adhering to protocols for minimizing complications.\r\nPerform ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsies as well as marker clip placement.\r\nCollaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to prepare procedure rooms, manage equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies.\r\nDocument procedures accurately, including procedural notes, imaging findings, and patient outcomes.\r\nEducate patients on procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide pre- and post-procedure instructions.\r\nEnsure compliance with all safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and infection control guidelines.\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\nEducation\r\nGraduate of an approved course of study acceptable to the New York State Education Department\r\nBachelor's degree required Radiologic Technology or a related field; certification as a Radiologist Assistant (RA) or Physician Assistant (PA) with radiology focus preferred.\r\n\r\nCertifications:\r\nCurrent ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology (e.g., RRA - Registered Radiologist Assistant) are highly desirable.\r\nBLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.Slate Healthcare Job ID #4c04b3fb-e3cd-4b2a-96b7-3262a45c7556.
