POSITION DETAILS:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leads in preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
Manages/maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Such policies and procedures include all aspects of accounting processes including flow of contractual documents for project- related accounting activity.
Prepares periodical financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Provides financial analysis, comparative analysis, budgetary and cash flow analysis.
Updates job costing reports and works with project managers related to estimating of project costs and percentage completion as the jobs progress to recognize revenue in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Works with external accountants and provides information needed for annual financial statement preparation and state and federal tax return preparation.
Files monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with appropriate government authorities.
Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Supports Leadership in operational analysis to identify areas in need or reorganization, retraining to improve performance. Review long-range economic trends and forecast impact on future operations.
Assists in reviewing/evaluating investment of funds and works with investment bankers to maximize performance of investments.
Responsibilities include full in-house weekly payroll processing. Oversees set up of new employees. Maintain employee benefit accruals and deductions. Responsible for paying government payroll tax liabilities in a timely manner, state and federal payroll tax reporting, benefit payments and reporting (including HSA, FSA, 401k), bonus processing. W-2 and 1099 preparation.
Works with third party administrators in management of insurance and 401k plan.
Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.

Microsoft Office proficiency required.
Sage experience preferred.
Education and Experience:
Three years or more of accounting experience preferred.
Experience in construction accounting preferred but not required.
