This position will support the efforts to promote a secure environment for all Ashley employees and Ashley property. This position will meet with Ashley employees to address safety related issues and conduct safety investigations; maintain safety & training programs and records; develop and facilitate training programs; conduct safety audits. The Safety Coordinator will communicate regularly and work with the Worker's Compensation Department to review and investigate work-related injury claims.Responsibilities:Regulatory Compliance & Policy ManagementUpdate and maintain company safety policies and procedures in accordance with current OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standardsMonitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to ensure ongoing complianceAdvise management on regulatory requirements, interpretations, and potential impactsSupport abatement efforts for identified regulatory violations and non-compliance issuesReview workplace video footage and photographic evidence for potential safety violationsConduct monthly safety training sessions for supervisors and leadership teamsFacilitate new employee safety orientation sessionsDay-to-Day Safety Operations Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents in a timely mannerReview and document employee injuries, ensuring proper reporting and follow-upAssign and track corrective action assignments to appropriate personnelDevelop and deliver training programs on new safety policies, procedures, and best practicesEducate staff on health, safety, and security laws, regulations, and company proceduresMaintain safety documentation, records, and compliance filesEmployee Relations & Support Meet with employees to address safety concerns, questions, and suggestionsResolve employee safety complaints and ensure timely follow-up on abatement actionsProvide immediate assistance to injured employees, including first aid and injury assessmentTransport injured employees to medical facilities when necessaryPerform basic first aid, including bandaging and initial injury treatmentFoster a positive safety culture through engagement and communicationWorkers' Compensation Collaboration Coordinate with Workers' Compensation department on injury casesReview and investigate root causes of workplace injuriesParticipate in regular meetings to analyze injury trends and prevention strategiesMaintain accurate injury documentation and case management recordsCore Values Demonstration Embody and promote company Core and Growth Values in all interactions and decisionsLead by example in safety practices and professional conductSecondary Responsibilities Maintain consistent and reliable attendanceActively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuing educationProvide training and mentorship to other employees on safety topicsServe as backup support for other safety or operations functions as neededComplete special projects, assignments, and administrative tasks as requested by managementQualificationsEducation High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferredCertifications OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification required (or ability to obtain within 90 days)First Aid and CPR/AED certification requiredAdditional safety certifications (CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar) preferredExperience Minimum 2-3 years of experience in safety coordination, occupational health, or related fieldExperience in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environments preferredProven track record of conducting accident investigations and implementing corrective actionsExperience with Workers' Compensation processes and injury case managementWork Environment:This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
