Certification DetailsBLSNew Mexico PT LicenseJob DetailsFloating between departments and or local locations within 20 miles is required.Evaluates patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders.Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done; this level includes interpretation of data.Basic computer skills required.Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting.Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served.Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient.Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.Is a patient advocate.Other duties as assigned.Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health care.Pediatric Physical Therapist: Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, etc.Interviewing children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorder.Ability to evaluate and treat patient from 18yrs old and older.Float to adult units if needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates.Evaluates and treats pediatric patients from birth to 18yrs old, regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.Settings include inpatient, inpatient emergency department.Job RequirementsMust have Inpatient and Outpatient Experience.Must have at least one year of Peds PT experience if working in Peds.Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast-paced environment.At least one 13 week previous travel assignment.Two (2) years current experience required in specialty.Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.Must have a New Mexico PT License.BLS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.Unit Specific InformationSettings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health care.Pediatric Physical Therapist settings include inpatient, inpatient emergency department.
