A leading General Contractor is looking to add an Estimator to its growing Preconstruction team in Houston. This individual will support the estimating process for mixed use and commercial construction projects by assisting with takeoffs, bid coordination, subcontractor outreach, and pricing analysis.This role is well suited for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating and preconstruction.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing project estimates and bid packagesPerform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specificationsReview plans, addenda, and project documents for scope requirementsCommunicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors during the bidding processTrack and organize subcontractor proposals and pricingMaintain bid logs, estimate files, and project documentationHelp identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential cost impactsSupport the estimating team with budgeting and conceptual pricingResearch material pricing and assist with cost comparisonsCoordinate internally with project management and preconstruction teamsQualificationsPrevious experience in construction estimating or project coordination preferredMultifamily or commercial construction exposure is a plusProficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating software preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to read and understand construction drawingsEager to learn and develop within the construction industry
