This role provides valuable support by following established lesson plans, fostering partnerships with families and teachers, and ensuring individualized, multicultural programming in alignment with the center’s mission and standards.The Floating Teacher Assistant ensures compliance with Indiana Child Care Licensing Guidelines, NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards, and Paths to Quality Regulations. By creating a positive and predictable learning environment, this position plays a crucial role in supporting children’s growth and development while providing consistent care throughout the ELC.Key ResponsibilitiesFloat between classrooms to implement lesson plans that align with assessment data and developmentally appropriate practices based on NAEYC, FSSA, and Paths to Quality standards. Partner with parents to foster a strong home-school connection and provide high-quality early childhood programming. Assist in assessing children’s development regularly and share updates with families to support individualized growth. Facilitate hands-on learning opportunities that encourage exploration, creativity, and skill development. Follow Indiana Child Care Licensing Guidelines to provide responsive physical care and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. Establish a regular, predictable schedule of activities that aligns with licensing requirements and supports individual child needs. Use the Conscious Discipline Curriculum to help children develop critical social-emotional skills in a supportive manner. Collaborate with coworkers to maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children, families, and staff. Ensure classroom compliance with health and safety regulations, positive discipline practices, and required postings as outlined by Indiana Childcare Licensing Guidelines. Maintain at least 20 hours of annual training focused on Early Childhood Development to enhance skills and knowledge.
