ATTORNEY IV$100,000 - $140,000Full-time: 40 Hours per WeekAustin, TexasGeneral Description Assist in the implementation of the goals of the Texas Judicial Commission on Mental Health (JCMH), a commission created by the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. The Commission works to strengthen criminal and civil courts in the administration of justice for Texans with mental health challenges or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by developing judicial and attorney education, collaborating with mental health and IDD experts for systems improvement, and supporting judicial leadership. Job Responsibilities·        Lead the planning of the Annual Judicial Summits on Mental Health.·        Oversee the Court Liaison Pilot Program in five Texas counties.  ·        Develop studies, educational materials, and training videos to improve legal representation in mental health law.·        Facilitate multi-disciplinary committee on substance use disorders in the justice system.·        Support additional JCMH workgroups and committees as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities·        Experience with the Texas court system and knowledge of state laws and practices regarding criminal justice, juvenile justice, and/or civil commitments are preferred. ·        Knowledge of best practices and common issues at the intersection of mental health and the judicial system.·        Excellent skills in writing, teaching, facilitation, and project management. ·        Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, determine priorities, and meet deadlines. ·        Ability to convene multi-disciplinary stakeholders, facilitate substantive planning sessions, create project timetables, evaluate strategies and proposed solutions, and produce related reports.  ·        Ability to travel—no more than 30%. Experience and Education At least three years’ experience as a licensed attorney and graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or other degree sufficient for admission to the State Bar of Texas.
