Director - 3P Marketplaces
Shoebacca is a fast-growing online footwear and apparel retailer offering top brands at exceptional value. We operate across our own DTC channel and a growing portfolio of third-party marketplaces, and we’re building the infrastructure and leadership team to scale aggressively.
The Role
We’re looking for a Director of 3P Marketplaces to own our marketplace business end-to-end — strategy, execution, and the team that delivers both. This is a high-ownership role reporting to the COO, responsible for protecting and growing a meaningful revenue channel across Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and others. You’ll inherit a team of 3–5 and be expected to both elevate their performance and drive the channel forward yourself.
This role is equal parts strategic and operational. We need someone who can set a growth roadmap and then roll up their sleeves to make it happen.
What You’ll Own
P&L ownership for all third-party marketplace channels, with accountability for revenue, margin, and growth targets
Channel strategy across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and emerging platforms — including prioritization, expansion decisions, and competitive positioning
Marketplace advertising strategy and tactical execution, including sponsored products, retail media, and campaign performance management (ROAS, CPC, CPS)
Day-to-day operational excellence: catalog integrity, content standards, listing optimization, Buy Box strategy, pricing, inventory allocation, and fulfillment performance via FBA
Account and seller health management, including platform compliance, escalations, and program participation (e.g., Amazon Brand Registry, FBA, Walmart Fulfillment Services)
Revenue forecasting and financial modeling in partnership with Finance, including monthly demand forecasts, advertising spend projections, and contribution margin planning
Team leadership and development for a team of 3–5 marketplace specialists, setting clear expectations and building capability
Cross-functional coordination with Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Finance to align inventory, pricing strategy, and promotional planning
Reporting and analytics: owning the metrics that matter and bringing data-driven insight to leadership on channel performance
What We’re Looking For
7–10 years of marketplace experience, with meaningful time in a senior or leadership role
Deep Amazon expertise is required, including hands‑on experience with Seller Central, FBA, catalog management, Buy Box mechanics, and retail media; experience with Walmart Marketplace and/or eBay is a strong plus
Proven ability to manage and grow a team, not just a channel
Strong commercial instincts — you understand margin, not just revenue
Fluency in marketplace advertising: you’ve owned or closely managed sponsored campaigns and understand how to optimize profitability, not just visibility
Analytical capability: comfortable with BI tools, Excel modeling, KPI frameworks, and translating data into decisions
Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving environment where you’ll need to both set direction and execute
Strong communicator who can translate channel complexity into clear updates for senior leadership
Why This Role
This is a real ownership opportunity at a company with genuine scale and growth momentum. You won’t be managing a channel on behalf of a committee — you’ll own it, build it, and have direct access to leadership to move fast.
