This individual will lead and support construction-phase services for site/civil engineering projects, ensuring that design intent is accurately executed in the field. This role serves as the primary point of contact for contractor coordination during construction and is responsible for timely review of submittals, response to RFIs, and field verification of site work.This position requires a strong civil engineering background with the ability to interpret construction documents, communicate effectively with contractors and clients, and proactively identify and resolve issues during construction.Job ResponsibilitiesConstruction Administration LeadershipServe as the lead civil engineering representative during construction for assigned projects;Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and contractors to support construction-phase activities; andMaintain consistent communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.Submittal & Shop Drawing ReviewReview contractor submittals (shop drawings, product data, samples) for conformance with construction documents;Track submittals and ensure timely turnaround to maintain project schedules; andIdentify deviations from design intent and provide clear, concise review comments.Requests for Information (RFI) ManagementPrepare and issue responses to RFIs related to civil/site design;Interpret construction documents and provide clarifications to resolve field conflicts; andMaintain RFI logs and coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistency across responses.Field Observations & Site VisitsConduct periodic site visits to observe construction progress and verify compliance with plans;Identify potential issues early and work with the contractor to implement corrective actions; andDocument observations and communicate findings to project stakeholders.Punch List & Project CloseoutPerform punch walks to identify incomplete or non-conforming work;Verify completion of punch list items and support project closeout activities; andCoordinate with owners and contractors to ensure successful project turnover.Design Support During ConstructionProvide clarifications or minor revisions to drawings as needed to address field conditions;Collaborate with design teams to resolve conflicts between disciplines; andEnsure consistency between issued drawings and construction-phase updates.Coordination & MeetingsParticipate in construction coordination meetings as needed to support active issues;Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, MEP, etc.); andSupport project managers in maintaining schedule, budget, and quality during construction.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or related field required;Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred;10+ years of site/civil engineering experience, with a strong portion in construction-phase services;Experience supporting land development, infrastructure, or data center projects preferred; andDemonstrated experience with submittal review, RFI response, and field observation.Langan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.Our comprehensive compensation package includes:full-time employment company paid medical, dental, and vision coveragelife insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, and paid pregnancy disability leave401(k)/Roth with company matchpaid time off including parental and military leaveemployee referral and professional license bonuseseducational reimbursement.employee resource groupsflexible work schedulesextensive trainingwellness programsbuddy and mentoring programsmuch more!Langan is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
