Commissioning TechnicianLocation: BaltimoreCompany: Solar GainesJob Type: Full-TimeSalary: $24.00 - $35.00 per hourPosition Summary:Solar Gaines is growing and looking to add a Commissioning Technician to our expanding team. This role is critical during the final phase of our solar installation projects. You will work closely with project managers to commission systems, configure monitoring tools, troubleshoot issues, and prepare solar installations for operational handoff.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair malfunctioning solar systems and electrical componentsConfigure system monitoring tools and verify functionalityReview and complete system testing documentationTroubleshoot technical issues related to solar equipment and monitoring platformsPerform hands-on field work as neededEnsure compliance with NEC codes and local electrical standardsMaintain strong communication with superintendents, project managers, and clientsMaintain and inspect assigned PPE, tools, and equipmentRequired Skills & Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience in PV installation and/or service (residential and commercial)Strong understanding of DC electrical systemsFamiliarity with NEC and local codes related to PV installationsAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer documentationSolid problem-solving and coordination skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable lifting up to 60 lbs. and working from elevated environmentsProficient in using computers and system monitoring softwareExperience with quality control and job site safety (OSHA standards)Education & Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent (required)OSHA 10 Certification (required)Valid driver's license (required)Journeyman Electrician License (preferred but not required)Schedule:Monday to Friday8-hour shiftCompensation & Benefits:Competitive hourly pay ($24-$38/hr depending on experience)401(k) retirement planHealth, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Life insuranceShort- and long-term disability insurancePaid time off (PTO)Bonus payReferral programProfessional development assistanceWhy Join Solar Gaines?We offer stable employment with competitive compensation and a strong benefits package.
