Senior Accountant

Job Title: Real Estate AccountantLocation: New York CitySalary: $115,000-$130,000Company Summary: An investment management firm specializing in Real Estate is looking to make a key hire to their accounting team. The Accountant will play a critical role by supporting the mortgage, investments, and finance teams. This role will require an accountant who has the ability to complete financial reporting, hedging, month-end close, and investment tasks in a efficient manner across a complex mortgage and structured credit platform. Key Responsibilities: Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and portfolio reporting, ensuring accuracy and timelinessPrepare reconciliations and maintain audit-ready workpapers (SOX compliant)Create reports for management and regulatory purposesExplain financial variances and support audits and process improvements across teamsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field2+ years of working with Real Estate 4+ years of experience in accounting, audit or related fieldFamiliarity with mortgage or fixed income (TBA, Loans, MSR)NetSuite, SQL, Python experience are a plus
