Barista

The Barista position plays a key role in delivering our cafe experience at Revolution Roasters, crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional service for our guests. This role calls for precision, consistency, and hospitality to uphold the standards of our highly respected menu + cafe experience.As part of our front of house team, our baristas contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside kitchen and commissary teams to create a seamless, scratch-made experience. From dialing in espresso and preparing beverages to engaging with guests and maintaining a clean, organized cafe, this position is hands-on at every step of service. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their craft, values growth, and wants to be part of a passionate team shaping one of North County’s standout coffee shop experiences.Status: Part-time, Non-ExemptReports to: Cafe ManagerCore ResponsibilitiesCraft Beverage ExecutionPrepare all espresso, coffee, and specialty beverages with consistency and attention to detailDial in espresso and maintain coffee quality standards throughout each shiftFollow all recipes & build drinks to spec, ensuring balance and presentation align with standardsGuest Experience & HospitalityProvide a thoughtfully welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable experience for every guestEngage with guests to understand preferences and guide them through the menuResolve guest concerns with care, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindsetMenu Knowledge (Mainstay + Seasonal)Maintain strong knowledge of mainstay menu items, including ingredients, build, & flavor profilesLearn & confidently execute seasonal menu offerings, including beverages, pastries, & food itemsStay up to date on menu changes, new product launches, and recipe updatesCommunicate menu items clearly to guests, including answering questions and offering thoughtful recommendations, speak to house-made components (almond milk, syrups, cold foam, etc.) and how they impact flavorCleanliness & OrganizationMaintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar at all timesFollow all cleaning checklists and food safety standardsSupport overall cafe cleanliness, including lobby, restrooms, and shared spacesTeam CollaborationWork collaboratively with team members across FOH, kitchen, and commissaryCommunicate clearly during service to ensure smooth operationsSupport teammates during busy periods and contribute to a positive team environmentOperational AwarenessFollow opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures accuratelyMaintain awareness of product levels and communicate restocking needsUphold all company policies, systems, and standards of serviceKey Results Areas Beverage Quality & Consistency – Consistently execute all beverages to company standards, maintaining accuracy in recipes, dial-ins, and presentation across every shift.Guest Experience & Hospitality – Deliver a warm, attentive, and knowledgeable experience that creates positive guest interactions, builds loyalty, and reflects our brand standards.Menu Knowledge & Execution – Demonstrate strong understanding and accurate execution of all mainstay and seasonal menu items, including the ability to confidently communicate and recommend offerings to guests.Speed & Efficiency of Service – Maintain strong pace and workflow during all levels of business, contributing to smooth operations and minimizing wait times without sacrificing quality.Cleanliness, Organization & Standards – Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and cafe environment, following all cleaning systems and food safety standards.Team Contribution & Communication – Work collaboratively with the team, communicate clearly during service, and actively support a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment.Qualifications• 1–2 years of specialty coffee or hospitality experience preferred• Experience with espresso preparation and dialing in preferred• Strong attention to detail and consistency in beverage execution• Ability to multitask and maintain focus in a fast-paced cafe environment• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs• Familiarity with food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation best practices• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow within the roleSchedule & Availability Requirements• Early morning (5am-6am) and evening (6pm-7pm) availability required• Available to work weekends and holidays• Reliable transportation to and from cafe locationCompensation & Benefits• Hourly wage plus competitive tips• Matching 401(k) program• Discounts on drinks, meals, coffee beans, and merchandise• Opportunities for advancement within the company
