We're looking for a dynamic nursing professional eager to showcase compassionate, evidence-based nursing care skills and make a significant impact in our PACU department.Role OverviewWork reciprocally with other members of the perioperative teamImplement the nursing process for surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and nursing interventions in an acute and critical 24-hour settingSafely recover post-operative patients of varying ages emerging from anesthesiaActively participate in multidisciplinary collaboration to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and safe patient careAssure completion of required diagnostic and evaluative tests, providing related patient education and post-operative clinical assessmentsEducate patients and families on post-operative care, including medication usage and wound care prior to dischargeKey ResponsibilitiesConduct frequent assessments and titration of vasoactive, cardiac, and sedation infusions; monitor ventilated patients and initiate weaning protocolsProvide care and maintenance of invasive hemodynamic lines, including central venous and arterial cathetersRecognize and respond to changes in patient condition with strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity environmentKey QualificationsNYS RN license, BSNBLS required; ACLS and PALS preferredMinimum of 1.5+ years of related clinical experience in acute careCritical care/Surgical experience and related certification highly preferredCore SkillsWilling to take action and eager to adopt new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and passionA skilled decision-maker, with a proven track record of making timely decisions that ensure quality nursing careActively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged through formal and informal developmentApproachable and comfortable with diverse groups of people, fostering a supportive environmentAn effective communicator, able to tailor communication across audiencesCapable of building strong relationships and delivering patient-centered careAdditional InformationLocation: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts between 8:00 PM and 8:30 AM with weekend rotation requiredReports to: Nurse LeaderHelpful Links: Compensation Philosophy Benefits Pay Range: $113,100.00 - $180,900.00FSLA Status: ExemptClosingAt MSK, we believe in fair, competitive pay that reflects your job, experience, and skills.MSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
