Docketing ClerkAkin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Docketing Clerk in the Client Value and Practice Management department, reporting to the Efiling Manager.The role can reside in the Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York or Washington, DC with hybrid work capabilities and will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of centralized litigation calendaring services firmwide and responsible for assisting with Efiling in State and Federal Courts (Nationwide Courts). The Docketing Clerk is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm's attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities of this position include:Review of filing notices and documents to process required information into the firm's Centralized Docketing System (CourtAlert)Analyzing and being able to comprehend legal and court filingsResearch court rules pertaining to deadlines and respond to associated inquiries, keep current with court rule updatesMonitor and respond to request sent to firmwide docketing inboxesProviding after-hour support for EfilingsEnsure integrity of data in calendaring softwareAssist with Efiling in Nationwide Courts, with the ability to evaluate documents to ensure court filing criteria and local protocols are metDemonstrate strong accountability in daily tasksAbility to work independently with minimal supervision as experience developsParticipating in regular department meetingsAssist Docket Coordinators in all offices and provide coverage as necessaryPerform other tasks as requested by the Efiling ManagerQualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferredDocketing/Efiling (NextGen CM/ECF and NYSCEF) experience preferredMust be highly detail-oriented and demonstrate strong accuracy in all tasksAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new information or processesCapable of effective multi-tasking in a fast-paced, busy environmentAble to work independently with minimal supervisionSkilled in researching resource guides, rule codes, authorities, and various court websitesMust communicate clearly and promptly via email and phone with attorneys, secretaries, and paralegals regarding matter calendars and court proceduresFlexible and adaptable to changing departmental procedures as neededStrong attention to detail is essential for success in this roleThe anticipated base salary range for this position in Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC is $60,000 to $70,000. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, years of relevant experience, certifications or other professional licenses held, job-related knowledge and skills, business needs, and the location from which the work will be performed. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may also include a full range of health and other insurance benefits, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility), a discretionary bonus, and various paid time off benefits.
