Insurance Verification Coordinator
Description We are looking for an Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our team in Sacramento, California. This role is a Contract to possible long-term opportunity, initially covering for a team member on leave for at least two months, with the potential for an ongoing position based on performance. The position requires in-office work and adherence to Covid vaccination guidelines.
Responsibilities
Review insurance contracts to determine allowable amounts for scheduled procedures.
Calculate patient responsibility based on benefits and scheduled treatments.
Interpret copay, coinsurance, deductible, and out-of-pocket maximums to assess claim adjudication and patient financial obligations.
Analyze and interpret insurance benefits effectively to provide accurate information.
Communicate patient balances and explain insurance coverage clearly and professionally.
Apply a strong understanding of various insurance products, including Medicare Advantage plans.
Maintain efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure smooth operations.
Handle pressure well, consistently achieving and exceeding performance goals.
Ensure accurate cash posting for patient accounts. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance verification or a related field.
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance terminology and contract interpretation.
Proficiency in calculating patient financial responsibility based on benefits and procedures.
Familiarity with Medicare Advantage plans and other insurance products.
Strong communication skills for discussing balances and benefits with patients.
Ability to manage workloads in a fast-paced and high-volume setting.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
