The ideal candidate will bring strong technical tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead engagements from planning through completion.The RoleAs Tax Manager, you will oversee tax compliance and planning engagements, review complex returns, manage client relationships, and serve as a key resource for staff and senior accountants. The right candidate will be viewed as a trusted advisor to clients and an important leader within the firm.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates.Lead tax planning and advisory projects for business owners, individuals, and high-net-worth clients.Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for tax-related questions and planning opportunities.Oversee tax engagements to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and high-quality client service.Review work prepared by staff and senior accountants, providing coaching, feedback, and technical guidance.Research complex tax issues and communicate findings clearly to clients and internal team members.Assist with year-end planning, projections, estimated tax calculations, and tax-saving strategies.Support firm leadership with process improvements, workflow management, and practice development initiatives.Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.CPA license strongly preferred.5+ years of public accounting tax experience preferred.Prior experience reviewing individual and business tax returns.Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and planning.Experience managing client relationships and deadlines.Ability to supervise, train, and mentor staff.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency with tax software such as CCH, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx, Drake, or similar platforms preferred.Why This Opportunity Stands OutThis role offers the chance to join a firm where your expertise will be valued, your client relationships will matter, and your leadership will have a direct impact.
