KingshighwayFull Time, Monday-FridayOverviewBJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.Preferred QualificationsRole PurposeThis job utilizes a high degree of knowledge, training, skill level, and competence in a specialized are of psychiatry and mental health. Assess, formulate a diagnosis, initiate an integrated treatment plan, coordinate interventions, and evaluate the process toward recovery of adults with severe, persistent, and debilitating mental illness within the scope of formal collaborative practice agreement with psychiatrist (MD)ResponsibilitiesParticipates in professional developmentPrescribes, monitors, and manages psychotropic medications to adults with severe mental illness through an advanced and integrated assessment, diagnosis, and intervention in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician (psychiatrist). Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by the collaborative physician.Provides supportive psychotherapy and coordinates the psychiatric care of a select client population with focus on client-centered mental health treatment toward the goal of recovery. Admits and discharges per the Level of Care and treatment plan objectives.Participates in a multi- disciplinary team model to include the Health Care Home program which focuses on the holistic, integrated treatment of a person.Works directly in the local community by visiting clients who reside in boarding home facilities.
