Screw Machinist Lead

LER TechForce is looking for a Screw Machinist Lead to work in Milwaukee Wisconsin. This is a direct hire 1st shift role. The hours are 5AM to 3PM - Monday through Thursday. There will be some overtime available. Responsible for the setup, adjustment and operating of a variety of machine shop equipment, primarily for screw machines, including but not limited to, milling machines, drill presses, saws, pneumatic, hydraulic, resistance welding and vibratory equipment as well as a variety of common hand tools. Duties: Set up and operate one or two Davenport Screw Machines simultaneously while overseeing multiple operators and their work Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on Davenport Machines Evaluate new part opportunities for suitability to the equipment and assist in determining and reviewing the most cost effective option for tooling layout requirements for proposed new work Assist in evaluation of training of new Davenport operators Work with CNC equipment with instruction Set up, adjust and operate machine tools with limited supervision Perform complex machine setups and critical operations Move materials to and from work station as needed and maintain a clean and safe work area and report unusual conditions to department supervisor. Perform detail measurements and fill out all necessary paperwork involved with each job such as the QC inspection sheets, Move Tickets, etc. Operate various hand tools, power hand tools and machine tools to make finish adjustments to products. Required to grind standard tools Perform follow up in-process inspection to verify operator comprehension and quality compliance. Responsible for performing and follow up of daily standard to minor maintenance tasks for all screw machines Other Responsibilities: Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Assist in the decision making process of future machine and tooling purchases Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Some heavy lifting required up to 75 lbs. Education/Experience: Must be capable to set up and operate and perform complex troubleshooting of Davenport Screw Machines. Ability to read and understand documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization. Ability to perform simple math and use basic hand measuring tools including precision gages/equipment. Proficient use of desktop PC required. Requires 1-3 years of Screw Machine experience.
