Packaging Operator

Job DescriptionAn equipment operator in the packaging department will be required to run one or more type of packaging machine. The operator is required to follow all safety and quality requirements and be able to meet productivity expectations consistently. The packaging equipment includes the S-Line (16 & 22 Lb. spools), the A-Line (1 Lb. Spools), 1Lb Pack Line, Drum Pack, and TIG machine.FunctionsLoad and unload 190 and/or 600 lb. reels by rolling them into and out of the payoff mechanismAble to lift up to 25 lbs. on a continual basisSet up and change over the machine efficientlyPerform quality checks per control plansFollow safety protocols and operate in a safe mannerTransfer data/information clearly and accuratelyOperate the machine at specified production ratesEnsure correct information is on the label and apply all labels to productTroubleshoot basic issues on the equipmentWork overtime as neededOperate a forklift (Drum Pack Only)Minimum QualificationsFlexible, open-minded team playerGood math skillsDetailed oriented person keeping errors to a minimumAbility to read, understand, and follow written practicesConsistently shows up to work on time and is at their machine ready to work at start of shiftGood mechanical aptitude that allows operator to operate and troubleshoot equipment effectivelyAbility to stand, walk, bend, and crouch regularlyITW is an equal opportunity employer.
