Weekend and holiday requirementsDepartment Highlights: Justin 4 GI GU Surgical UnitJustin 4 is a 36-bed surgical unit that will care for colorectal, gastrointestinal, and urology surgery patients. On August 10, the unit will initially open with 20 beds, with plans to expand to the full 36 beds later in the year. Patients may be admitted pre- or post-operatively, with an average length of stay of approximately five days. RN staffing ratio: 1:4 PCT staffing ratio: 1:12 Positions require 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations.QualificationsHere's What You NeedH.S. Diploma or Equivalent RequiredOther - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency RequiredPCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required OrEMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required OrOther Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required OrOther 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire RequiredBCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly RequiredCPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.What You Will DoProvides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences. Collects and reports patient data, supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes. Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately. Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs. Maintains a clean, safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs. Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
