Position Summary/Objective of job: The Warehouse Worker 1 Team Member is an entry-level position on the Warehouse team. The Warehouse teams goal is to ensure efficient and safe handling of products, materials, and supplies within the warehouse, and specifically, receiving, storing, and distributing ice cream and related products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring that the warehouse is clean and organized. The Warehouse Worker 1 Team Member performs routine warehouse duties including maintaining and distributing materials for producing ice cream at our facility. This position requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to food and plant safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Essential Functions: Load and unload both internal and external delivery trucks efficiently and safely. Receive, unpack, and label incoming ingredients, verifying articles received against packing lists and purchase orders. Inspect products for quality and report any discrepancies or damage. Store products in designated areas, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO method). Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently verifying articles shipped against packing slips. Prepare products for shipping with proper labeling and documentation. Follow all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and SOPs. Operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and other related equipment safely and efficiently, following proper procedures. Assist in cycle counting. Qualifications: Prior experience working in commercial food preparation, manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment. Possession of or ability to obtain a Forklift Operator's Certificate as needed. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6AM - 2:30PM Knowledge and Critical Skills: Fluency in English. Good counting and math skills. Good attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers. Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working on a team in a manufacturing or warehouse facility with other teams. The work environment is bright and well-lit. The work environment is loud due to the equipment. The majority of the time will be in the warehouse, which is between 50-60 degrees. Frequently will be in refrigerators 32-40 degrees and in freezers -15 to 0 degrees. Occasionally strong scents and odors depending on ingredients and cleaning. Exposed to inclement weather, chemicals, mechanical hazards, heavy machinery, and fumes.
