Assistant Maintenance Mechanic
Assistant Maintenance Mechanic Job Goal: To help maintain district physical plants and facilities in a safe, efficient, and professional manner so as to enhance the learning environment of students. Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or GED. Demonstrated aptitude and willingness for general maintenance duties. Alaska State Water Treatment Operator in Training (OIT) where applicable. New hires and current employees must pass the examination within 3 consecutive test dates after being offered the training. Willingness to travel to remote locations. Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment. Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below. Duties: 1. Performs semiskilled building maintenance tasks in craft areas as assigned. Works as assistant to a skilled maintenance mechanic. Works as a maintenance mechanic trainee. Performs duties with the highest standards of safety for personnel, students, and facilities. Responsible for reporting general building maintenance and equipment malfunction and repair needs. Performs other duties as assigned.
