Indirect Procurement Category Manager
Almac Group is currently seeking a Category Manager (Indirect Procurement) for our Souderton, PA location. The Category Manager will support the implementation and management of consistent purchasing practices with robust controls within Global Central services in UK, US and Ireland, comprising primarily of 3 legal entities: Almac Group LTD, Almac Central Management LLC and Almac Pharmaceuticals Group (Ireland) LTD.
The Category Manager (Indirect Procurement) will be responsible for developing and implementing the procurement strategy for defined areas of procurement, including facilities & engineering, it and a range of professional services category areas, managing the procurement cycle in line with business requirements. The Category Manager will manage supplier relationships, drive the utilization of contracted suppliers and develop plans to reduce costs, mitigate risk and improve quality.
The Category Manager will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify their sourcing needs, perform market research, devise sourcing strategies, lead the supplier selection process and negotiate supply agreements and contracts.
The Category Manager will lead sourcing exercises and be responsible for supplier relationship development and management by partnering with internal stakeholders to facilitate supplier performance monitoring, continuous improvement and drive innovative outcomes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist the Global Procurement Director in providing an effective internal source of procurement knowledge to Central Services departments in UK, US and Ireland.
Develop close working relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders, advising appropriately on procurement matters.
Oversee the effective and efficient procurement of services and goods, assuming responsibility for vendor and contract management activity.
Undertake sourcing activity to secure the supply of relevant services and products across various Spend Categories, including Facilities, Engineering and Professional Services via due diligence research, RFQ, Tender processes etc.
Negotiate, agree and implement contractual terms with vendors to meet service specifications.
Conduct regular business review meetings with key suppliers as necessary and deputize in the absence of the Global Procurement Manager when necessary.
Manage the Contract Life Cycle and engage with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing is aligned with business objectives.
Identify supply risk areas and implement mitigation actions.
Review and challenge existing arrangements/agreements and processes to ensure they are compliant and fit for purpose.
Assist the Global Procurement Director in the agreement and implementation of appropriate KPIs/SLAs to drive supplier performance and delivery.
Qualifications:
Required Experience / Education:
HS Diploma or GED
5+ years experience procurement experience for both indirect and direct goods and services at a senior level
5+ years experience of driving and managing change in an organization
5 years experience of managing cross—functional teams
Previous practical procurement experience encompassing total responsibility for both large scale (>$1M) and smaller scale procurement projects
Proven successful track record within contract negotiation and competitive pricing analysis
Proven track record within supplier relationship management
Preferred Experience / Education:
Bachelors Degree
CPSM or C.P.M.
Previous practical procurement experience within a range of goods and services
Previous experience of P2P system/s
Knowledge of VAT rules in Northern Ireland, Great Britain and Ireland.
Knowledge of Sales tax rules in the USA
