Sr Plumbing Engineer

The company values technical excellence, responsive client service, and practical, buildable designs that perform over the long term.Role Description The Sr Plumbing Engineer will lead the design and coordination of plumbing systems for commercial, residential, and institutional buildings. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities include developing plumbing designs and calculations, sizing and selecting equipment, and preparing construction documents, drawings, and specifications. The Sr Plumbing Engineer will review and mark up shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide technical support during construction. The role involves collaborating with internal MEP teams, architects, and contractors to ensure code compliance, constructability, and performance of water supply, drainage, and specialty plumbing systems. The Sr Plumbing Engineer will mentor junior staff, perform quality checks on project deliverables, and support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.Qualifications Strong expertise in Plumbing and Plumbing Design, including system layout, equipment selection, and code-compliant design.Demonstrated experience with Water Supply systems, including domestic water distribution, pressure calculations, and conservation strategies.Background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) coordination, with the ability to integrate plumbing systems with other building services.Knowledge of Building Services engineering, including interaction of plumbing with HVAC, fire protection, and overall building performance.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline; PE license in California or ability to obtain it is preferred.Proficiency with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD and/or Revit) and familiarity with applicable plumbing codes and standards.Proven experience managing plumbing design on building projects, including construction administration support.Effective communication skills, ability to lead project tasks, and willingness to mentor early-career engineers.
