Refrigeration Technician

Position: Refrigeration TechnicianLocation: TonawandaPay: $21.39 – $30.00 per hourWe are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our manufacturing and engineering team. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-temperature refrigeration systems in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on refrigeration experience, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Responsibilities:Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and general arrangement drawingsAssemble, test, dehydrate, charge, and troubleshoot refrigeration systemsPerform high-quality silver soldering on copper refrigeration systems up to 3 inches in diameterBend, flare, and install copper tubing to required specificationsTroubleshoot low-temperature refrigeration systems using technical diagrams and schematicsSupport preventive maintenance and assist with off-site installation projectsMonitor refrigerant inventory and maintain accurate documentationProvide support for refrigeration procedures, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiativesTrain team members and administer refrigeration soldering tests as neededAssist with additional manufacturing and maintenance activities when requiredQualifications:High School Diploma required; trade school training preferredHands-on experience with refrigeration systems and troubleshootingStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently in a manufacturing or job shop environmentExperience with silver soldering and copper tubing assembly preferredEPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification strongly preferredExperience with preventive maintenance and field installations is a plusPhysical Requirements:Ability to work at heights and in confined spacesFrequent bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
