Job Description
Dental assistants provide chairside assistance to dentists and dental hygienists, performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of dental offices and the delivery of quality patient care. Responsibilities: Administrative Duties:Scheduling appointments Maintaining patient records Processing insurance claims Assisting with billing and collections Ordering supplies Managing inventory Other Tasks:Performing administrative tasks, such as answering phones and greeting patients Assisting with dental emergencies Providing post-treatment care instructions Maintaining a clean and comfortable treatment environment Clinical Duties:Sterilizing instruments and equipment Maintaining infection control protocols Educating patients on oral hygiene practices Assisting with dental procedures, such as fillings, extractions, and cleanings Preparing patients for treatment Taking and developing dental X-rays Requirements: High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a dental assisting program or on-the-job trainingCertification or registration, depending on state requirementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and ability to multitaskPhysical stamina - ability to stand for long periods of time
