Major/Essential Functions
Provides patient care and diagnosis in Pediatric Nephrology to newborns, children and adolescents
Determines nature and extend of disease or injury
Prescribes and administers medication
Supervises mid-level providers in the clinical setting
Ensure compliance with HIPPA and billing regulations
Participate in research and scholarly activities in the Department of Pediatrics
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the PLFSOM Declaration of Faculty Professionalism Responsibilities
Participate in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications
M.D. / D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program
Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License
Board Certified in Pediatric Nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Nephrology
Regional or emerging national recognition for rank of Associate Professor or higher
