SummaryThe primary objective of this position is to assist in the preparation of a variety of baked goods by following existing recipes and preparing large quantities of breads, pastries, and cakes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Follow existing recipesMeasure, weigh and prepare ingredientsKnead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as neededMonitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipmentEnsure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standardsClean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and toolsMonitor items during bakingDecorate, glaze, apply icing, and prepare toppings for baked goodsOperate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipmentReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Basic knowledge of measurements.Ability to read and follow recipes.Basic cake decorating skills.Knowledge of plating cakes and desserts for meal service.
