Air Quality and Noise Department Manager – Environmental ServicesPrimary Location: Chicago, IL, USATravel: Yes, up to 25%DescriptionThe Air Quality and Noise Department Manager is responsible for the managerial direction and leadership of a department within a global practice or regional office. This includes supporting and executing business strategy, developing high‑performance teams, and promoting a culture of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and outstanding service.Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership to the team; direct and coordinate work assignments and review performance.Ensure profitable growth of the department by managing staff levels, assignments, and billable goals.Implement and support company, practice, and office programs and initiatives.Provide expert‑level technical and design guidance.Achieve financial performance targets and manage department budget.Prepare and present workload and monthly financial reports.Recruit, train, develop, and retain staff; conduct performance evaluations.Collaborate with business development managers, project managers, and proposal staff to secure work.Ensure QA/QC process adherence and compliance with safety policies.Lead diversity initiatives and continuous improvement activities.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field.7+ years of professional experience in design and/or project management.Previous leadership or management experience preferred.Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly.Ability to influence, lead, and manage change.Strong project management skills and strategic perspective.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
