Structures Field Engineer
Apply Description ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who will work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. We will provide value to our employees through craft training programs, competitive benefits and a safe work environment and value to the local community with outstanding project quality and opportunity for employment and training programs.The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting the Superintendent, engineering staff, and Project Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project including the field operations and project administration. This position is predominately based in the field.ResponsibilitiesAssists with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawingsHas a clear understand specifications, drawings, standards, and subcontractor & supplier scope of work, etc.Demonstrates, communicates, and reinforces the all Company safety policies and procedures.Interprets specifications, designs and drawings and prepares quantity takeoffsPrepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.Verifies work-in-place quantities for invoicing/pay quantitiesMaintains submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawingsEnsures craft time cards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; verifies cost codes to all purchases, time cards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving costMaintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriateMaintains RFI logsParticipates in constructability reviews and value engineering functionsDevelops, implements and administers project engineering procedures and other work documents; tracks and logs documentationTakes weekly jobsite photographsWorks with the Safety Department to insure that project safety records are accurately maintainedAssists in quality control activitiesAssists in preparing project status reports and participates in project status meetings; assists in development of meeting minutesAssists in project close-out activitiesMay support estimates as neededPerforms additional assignments per supervisor's direction Requirements Experience/Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar3 years of experience preferred4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience1 - 2 years of field construction experienceE.I.T. preferred but not requiredAbility to read and interpret plansExcellent computer skillsMicrosoft products requiredCAD experience, especially AutoCAD, preferredDocument control management software such as Procore or Fieldwire preferredBasic understanding of cost analysisExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to relocate to FargoAble to lift, stand, walk, use hands, carry, etc.Work Environment:Regularly exposed to outside weather conditionsExposure to moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrationNoise levels in the work environment is usually loudAbility to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vestPhysical Demands:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsExtensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.)Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrainMust be able to respond quickly to soundsMust be able to bend, stoop, and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipmentThe ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understandASN Constructors and all its affiliate companies are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers.
