(Fourth Diocesan Synod, Statute #1).This position oversees areas of Catholic identity and accreditation for diocesan elementary and high schools and serves as a Commissioner with the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). The Superintendent directs Catholic formation in schools, implements the Evermode Institute, and promotes Religion curriculum to strengthen school culture. The role extends the Catholic mission of Christ's Church and the evangelical initiatives of the Bishop to all schools and educational programs, modeling missionary discipleship in every aspect of leadership.The Superintendent assists principals, pastors, teachers, and Curia staff in implementing diocesan policies and maintaining procedures that ensure fidelity to Catholic culture. The individual develops and maintains teaching and professional development programs for school administrators and teachers that integrate Gospel values with sound educational practices. Are you excited about evangelization and creating disciples?WHAT YOU'LL LOVE:Having a strategic role, vital to the leadership team and mission of The Diocese, that will positively impact the transformation of Catholic educationCollaboration with and support from a highly talented and innovative teamA diocese led by Bishop Thomas John Paprocki, a courageous and faithful shepherd and teacherOne of the few dioceses that offers Daily Mass for the CuriaAbility to interact with a team that encourages healthy debates and exchange of ideasA close-knit team which celebrates Christmas Parties, Thanksgiving luncheons, Advent angels, baseball days, Lenten Reflection series, Retreat days, daily Mass…and so many other wonderful events!Four-day work week (Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5:15pm) — you have Fridays off each week!Generous benefits packageRelocation package availableHOW YOU'LL SERVE:Collaborate with and report to the Director of the Department for Catholic Education to provide leadership and vision for Christian formation in schools.Seek opportunities, make recommendations, and consistently support initiatives that strengthen the Catholic mission and identity of all diocesan schools.Partner with the Director to articulate a philosophy of Catholic Education and provide leadership in the implementation of diocesan policies.Oversee and lead accreditation processes, serving as Commissioner with WCEA, including standards review, site visits, and compliance — with particular emphasis on Religion and Catholic Identity standards.Provide guidance and direction in matters related to accreditation, operational effectiveness, and budgetary considerations.Plan and coordinate programs for the spiritual and professional growth and development of personnel who serve the ministry of Catholic Schools.Develop and lead implementation of initiatives to deepen Catholic identity in all schools, including integration of the Evermode Institute.Support pastors, principals, and regional ecclesial and school leaders in the operations of Catholic schools.Serve as diocesan representative and advisory council member for an assigned group of elementary and high schools.Participate in principal searches and mission-driven hiring processes.Provide in-service training and attend regional meetings of principals as necessary.Serve as liaison with the Catholic Conference of Illinois (via Superintendent Meetings).Act as a resource regarding diocesan policies, state and federal regulations and programs, legal matters, board matters, and related issues.Collect, analyze, and disseminate statistical and other information from state resources related to Catholic education.Consult with and make recommendations to the Director on all matters related to faith formation in schools.Attend conferences and networking meetings as required and budgeted.THE GIFTS & SKILLS YOU'LL BRING:Master's Degree or Doctorate in Education, Educational Administration, or related field.Minimum five years of teaching experience and at least three years of experience in Catholic school administration (e.g., Catholic High School Headmaster/Headmistress, Catholic High School Principal, or Catholic Diocese Assistant Superintendent).Must be a practicing Catholic in full communion and full support of the teachings of the ChurchDemonstrated experience implementing Catholic Education initiatives that strengthen mission and identity.Mastery of accreditation standards and review processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Outlook.Valid driver's license and willingness to routinely visit schools and parishes throughout the Diocese.Crosskeys Talent Solutions is honored to provide talent searches for top client organizations such as The Roman Catholic Diocese in Springfield, IL.
