CNC Programmer

*SUMMARY* Programs and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces by performing the following duties. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following; · Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations. · Sets up and operates all conventional Tool room machines and equipment, as needed, to produce tools, die components, jigs, and fixtures. · Verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications. *QUALIFICATIONS* Master CAM X 2 to program. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to program, set-up, and operate machine tools and equipment with minimal supervision. Must be able to detect Tool Room equipment malfunctions. Experience w *OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES* Must be familiar with the mechanical function of Tool room machines and equipment, to ensure all safety items are in place before operation is started. Shall observe and comply with all Company safety rules and regulations, and report incidents to supervisor and/or manager. Must maintain an acceptable attendance record within the guidelines of the Company attendance policy. Must maintain a satisfactory level of efficiency and quality in work produced. Must demonstrate safety awareness, good workmanship practices, and continuous improvement. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Previous work experience as a CNC programmer Ability to read and interpret design blueprints. experience with computer modeling software. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift heavy objects. Ability to work after-hours when required. Other duties may be assigned. *EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* Two-year certificate from college, technical school, apprenticeship program; or a minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
