For more information about your rights under the law, see EEO is the LawOverviewAs a Summer Intern you will perform programming and conceptual design tasks thru preparation of contract documents under the direct supervision of one or more registered architects. Tasks will be in support of architectural projects related to new construction, renovation, and tenant improvement work.ResponsibilitiesSummer Interns work as part of a multi-discipline team performing architectural design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Summer Interns perform assignments under the direct supervision of one or more registered architects and concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects. Assignments include programming, space planning, participating in the design process, preparing design presentations to communicate ideas to clients, and producing deliverable drawing sets for floor plans, roof plans, building and wall sections, details and schedules.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assists to design and specify project-appropriate architecture requirementsPerforms Revit modeling and detailingAssists to conduct site investigations and observationsAssists to prepare narratives, architectural graphics, design presentations, boards, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraintsAssists to perform cross-discipline discussions and coordinationMaintains knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials, sustainability, etc.Additional assignments may include attending client and internal meetings, assisting with performing construction contract administration, and assisting with marketing/business development activitiesRequirementsMust be working towards graduation of an accredited Architecture degree.Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture, Rhino, Grasshopper, Sketch-Up, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills and knowledge of other building systems.Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team.Active involvement and demonstrated leadership skills in extracurricular activities on campus and in the community is preferred.Why join LEO A DALY?At LEO A DALY, you will become part of a collaborative design culture and do work that matters.
