This role ensures structural integrity, proper lifting and transportation design, thermal performance, and compliance with applicable codes, while developing and maintaining mechanical design standards and material specifications. The engineer will collaborate closely with overseas mechanical teams, provide final engineering sign-off, and support factory builds.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview and approve 3D models and fabrication drawings for skids, enclosures, and mechanical assembliesVerify structural design, lifting points, seismic/wind considerations, and transportation constraintsEvaluate thermal management (airflow, ventilation, filters, louvers, HVAC interface) for enclosed power modulesCheck equipment layouts for maintainability, clearances, and NEC working-space requirementsDevelop and maintain mechanical design standards, material specs, and painting/corrosion protection requirementsWork with external design resources (overseas mechanical teams) and perform final engineering sign-offSupport factory builds and resolve mechanical non-conformitiesRepresents the Company before customers and at technical conferences in support of marketing and salesCompliance with all Company policies is required, including adherence to Company ISO 9001 Standards and compliance with Company Affirmative Action Plan and Company Safety proceduresCompliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is requiredRegular attendance is an essential function of this positionOther functions as required (non-essential functions)SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTSThe position requires daily contact with all levels of TWMC and customers including Engineering, Marketing, Factory Operations, Supply Chain, Service and Accounting.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering with five or more years of related work experience, or Master's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years of mechanical design experience in heavy electrical equipment, containers, or industrial skidsProficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, or similar)Understanding of structural design, lifting/rigging, and basic thermal analysisExperience with modular power systems or data center infrastructure preferredFamiliarity with relevant codes/standards (ASCE, AISC, AWS, ASHRAE, etc.) preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, or the ability to obtain within 12 monthsSKILLS AND ABILITIESMandarin Chinese proficiency is preferred for coordination with overseas teams.Write reports and correspondenceSpeak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
