Plant Electrical Engineer
Steel DynamicsResponsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant power distribution systems and provide technical support to the various departments. Interface with the utility company, vendors, contractors, and consultants to oversee installations and equipment maintenance.Ability to drive safety in all aspects of the plantDevelop and implement preventative maintenance proceduresHigh voltage power distribution up to 345kV, protective relaying, transformer and switchgear maintenanceMaintain general plant power equipmentAssist with planning and organizing maintenance shutdownsAssist department in safety improvements and initiativesRequiredStrong focus on safety; high level of safety awareness (LOTOTO, TCOS, etc.) and proven safety record; NFPA 70E knowledgeBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related fieldTroubleshooting and problem-solving skillsOrganizational, leadership, and communication skillsMotivated Self-Starter, ability to prioritize multiple projectsPreferredSVC power factor compensation experienceHV/MV power, Drives/Controls, Networking, HMI & PLC proficiencyElectrical preventative/predictive maintenance experienceSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
