Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) Success Specialist - Part Time, Grant Funded - SUNY Orange

Job Description We are currently seeking a qualified Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) Success Specialist, who will perform diverse tasks in a program dedicated to out-of-school youth. This position assists with recruiting eligible youth (ages 16-24) into the program, guiding them through the intake and enrollment process, and assist youth with developing education and career goals. The Specialist assists with gathering accurate records of participant progress, outcomes, and achievements while supporting a youth-centered experience. This position is primarily based at the SUNY Orange Newburgh Campus, with infrequent travel between buildings on campus. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Requirements Education Required Associate's degree or higher. Experience Required Three (3) years of experience working in Youth Development programs or two (2) years of experience in case management, and/or counseling of under-resourced youth (ages 16-24) and their families. Duties and Responsibilities Assist with outreach to local schools, community-based organizations, and partner agencies to recruit eligible youth. Represent the program at community events and information sessions. Complete participant intake interviews and collect eligibility documentation. Maintain organized digital and physical participant files. Collaborate with youth participants and the YEP Team to identify educational and career goals. Develop and update individualized goal plans and monitor progress toward completion. Provide encouragement, model problem-solving behavior, and referrals to internal and community resources as needed. Document youth achievements such as HSE test completion, credential attainment, and job placement. Work closely with the YEP Team to ensure youth participants receive coordinated support. Assist with scheduling and facilitating orientations, check-ins, workshops, and other student activities. Uphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with the WIOA and college policies. Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required. Perform additional related tasks to support youth success and program operations. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree. Two (2) years of experience working with youth or young adults in education, human services, or workforce development settings. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong technology skills specifically experience with Learning Management Systems, spreadsheets, and social media. Experience with outreach, data tracking, or case documentation. Community College or higher education experience. Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public. Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality. Ability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects, semester cycles, and deadlines. Ability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion. Bilingual skills. This position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds.
