Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable Java backend applications and services.
- Develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and Oracle.
- Apply strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery team to achieve sprint goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to application architecture, technical design, documentation, and engineering standards.
- Design and implement Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, Event-Driven Services, and cloud-native applications.
- Develop high-performance APIs using REST and GraphQL.Analyze and troubleshoot complex application, coding, integration, and performance issues.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective defect resolutions.
- Use Docker for application containerization and Kubernetes/OpenShift for orchestration and deployment.
- Participate in and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and release processes.
- Develop and automate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to maintain strong code quality.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve engineering productivity and development efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate software development, build, deployment, and operational processes.
- Communicate technical progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and potential bottlenecks effectively.
- Required Technical Skills 8+ years of software development experience, with strong specialization in Java backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- JavaSpring Boot
- Microservices ArchitectureRESTful APIsOracleSQL / PL/SQLStrong understanding of Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Java design principles.
- In-depth understanding of modern application architecture and software design patterns.
- Strong experience with Service-Oriented Architecture and Microservices Architecture.
- Experience developing Event-Driven Services.
- Experience with REST and GraphQL API implementations.
- Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), particularly Oracle.
- Experience designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend APIs.
- Experience with cloud-native application development.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong experience with build and deployment tools such as:
Maven / Gradle:
JenkinsDockerOpenShiftExperience with Git / GitHub Enterprise for source code management.
Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing.
Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using tools such as JIRA.Practical exposure to AI-assisted software development tools, including GitHub Copilot.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.
Preferred Skills:
AWS cloud experience is a significant advantage.
Experience building large-scale enterprise and cloud-native Java applications.
Strong understanding of application performance optimization, scalability, and production support.
Experience improving engineering processes through automation.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
