Mantell Associates is partnered with a dynamic and growing CDMO, seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to strengthen its commercial presence throughout the Pacific Northwest and Western U.S.You’ll play a pivotal role in driving client engagement, securing new contracts, and contributing to strategic growth across our service portfolio.Business Development Manager - ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute strategic business development plans targeting biotech and pharmaceutical companies for CDMO services including development, manufacturing, and custom solutionsIdentify, qualify, and cultivate new client opportunities, acting as trusted advisor and CDMO ambassador in the marketCollaborate with internal teams (Technical Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance) to craft tailored proposals, service models, and contract structures that meet client needs and align with company capabilitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with biotech, pharma, and partner organizations across the region; lead negotiations and secure agreements that support revenue and growth objectivesMonitor market trends, competitive capabilities, client priorities, and emerging technology demands; provide commercial insights that influence service offering evolutionRepresent the company at industry conferences, regional forums, and client engagements to increase visibility and generate leadsMaintain accurate sales pipeline, CRM records, forecasts, and performance reports; engage senior leadership on strategic account activityBusiness Development Manager - Requirements5-8 years of business development or sales experience within CDMO, biotech, or service-based pharmaceutical environmentsProven ability to secure and close contracts for CDMO services, with experience engaging biotech or pharma clientsStrong commercial acumen and ability to translate technical CDMO capabilities into compelling customer value propositionsExcellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills – confident interacting with senior clients and internal stakeholdersComfortable working in a hybrid model with field presence, travel across region, and interaction with internal and external stakeholdersMust be located in Washington State (or willing to relocate) and eligible to work in the USAMantell Associates is a specialist Pharmaceutical and Life Science headhunting firm.
