Position SummaryWho are hiring for a client seeking a Senior Project Manager to be responsible for the overall leadership, execution, and financial performance of large and complex construction projects. This role oversees all phases of the project lifecycle - from preconstruction through closeout - ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.The Senior PM serves as the primary leader for the project team, managing cross-functional coordination between field operations, engineering, subcontractors, and clients, while driving performance, accountability, and results.Frequent travel required.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & OversightLead large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through completionEstablish project execution strategy, staffing plans, and resource allocationProvide leadership to project teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and SuperintendentsEnsure alignment between field operations and project management teamsClient & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for:OwnersGeneral contractors / construction managersConsultants and stakeholdersLead executive-level meetings and presentationsManage client expectations and resolve high-level issuesPreconstruction & PlanningParticipate in preconstruction activities including:Budget developmentValue engineeringRisk assessmentScheduling strategyReview contracts and define project scope and execution approachBudget & Financial ManagementDevelop and manage project budgets and forecastsMonitor cost performance, including labor, materials, and subcontractorsManage billing, cash flow, and financial reportingIdentify risks to profitability and implement corrective actionsSchedule ManagementDevelop and maintain detailed project schedulesIdentify critical path activities and ensure milestone achievementCoordinate sequencing of trades and construction activitiesImplement recovery plans to mitigate delaysSubcontractor & Vendor ManagementOversee subcontractor procurement and contract administrationManage subcontractor performance, schedule, and qualityResolve disputes and coordinate scope responsibilitiesField CoordinationWork closely with Superintendents to:Coordinate field activitiesEnsure proper sequencing of workResolve jobsite issuesConduct regular site visits and progress reviewsRisk ManagementIdentify and mitigate project risks related to:DesignScheduleCostSafetyManage change orders, claims, and contract modificationsQuality AssuranceEnsure all work meets:Contract documentsIndustry standardsCompany quality expectationsOversee inspections and punch list completionSafety OversightPromote and enforce job site safety cultureEnsure compliance with OSHA and company safety policiesSupport safety initiatives and incident preventionTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop project team membersEstablish clear expectations and accountabilityPromote a high-performance, collaborative team environmentDocumentation & ReportingOversee project documentation including:ContractsSubmittalsRFIsChange ordersMeeting minutesProvide regular reporting to executive leadershipProject Types ManagedLarge commercial or industrial construction projectsMulti-phase or campus-style developmentsInfrastructure or institutional facilitiesHigh-complexity, multi-trade projectsQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in:Construction ManagementEngineeringRelated field (preferred)Experience10–20+ years of construction experience5–10+ years in project management leadership rolesExperience managing large-scale projects ($50M–$500M+)Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teamsSkillsAdvanced project management and leadership skillsStrong understanding of:Construction processesScheduling (CPM)Cost control and financial managementAbility to read and interpret:Construction drawingsSpecificationsContractsStrong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsCertifications (Preferred)PMP (Project Management Professional)OSHA 30LEED Accreditation (if applicable)Key CompetenciesExecutive-level leadershipStrategic thinking and decision-makingFinancial and business acumenRisk managementCommunication and stakeholder managementTeam leadership and development
